Areas of Focus
Grief Work

The grieving process can present itself after the death of a loved one, as a result of big changes in our lives, with loss of relationships, or even before one's death. Grief is an individualized journey where it's especially important to honor where each person is in their process.

Grief often emerges in moments where it may feel inconvenient. Its helpful to learn how to accept and adapt to these shifts in our emotional space. Developing adaptive skills and embracing emotional changes can ease the often difficult and painful effects of grief.

Chronic Illness and Disabilities
Chronic illnesses and disabilities can impact all areas of your life including relationships, work, social activities, and mental wellness. Unpredictable fluctuations in health, symptoms that interfere with quality of life, and invalidating medical experiences are just some of the varied impacts of chronic illnesses or disabilities.

Each life impacted by chronic illness is unique and comes with its own challenges. Inter-abled couples often need to navigate their own unique dynamics along with family members, caregivers, and parents of children with disabilities.

Developing a disability or chronic illness can prompt changes in our fundamental beliefs and bring forth questions about how to move forward. Tapping into the mind-body connection, deepening our understanding of somatic therapies, and even exploring existential principles can improve life with or life alongside a chronic illness or disability.

Trauma
Shame, guilt, hopelessness, anger, sadness, and confusion are just some of the complex feelings that can arise as a result of traumatic experiences. Trauma is an individual experience with a wide variety of responses that can show up in different aspects of one's life.
Traumatic experiences can impact relationships and enjoyment of daily activities, cause the development of physical conditions, and affect lifelong choices we make. It's important to meet individuals where they're at in their journey and use trauma informed methods to look at the whole person.
