My Approach

I strive to provide a validating, inclusive, and empathetic environment for individuals, couples, and families while they navigate the unique nature of their journey. I specialize in therapy for chronic illnesses, trauma, grief, and end of life care. I have a passion for providing therapy for those with chronic illnesses, their families, and inter-abled couples to help with the complexity of health challenges, daily management, and quality of life. I believe in the power of the mind-body connection and ability of every individual to find balance in their life despite the challenges they face.

My overall goal is to provide a safe and empowering environment to help individuals cultivate growth, form and maintain healthy relationships, and create meaning in their lives.

My Background

I have worked extensively with disabled children and teens as well as their families at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. I've focused on the advocacy and specific mental health needs of those with chronic illnesses and the complex experiences of their parents and siblings. I have advocated for patients with digestive disorders and a variety of chronic illnesses and their families for over 15 years.

I'm educated in the methodologies and practice of Biofeedback and Polyvagal theory and believe in the power of the mind-body connection. I look holistically at chronic illnesses, their affect on mental health, and how mental health can impact physical symptoms.

I also work with aging individuals in assisted living facilities and in hospice care. I have experience supporting the complexities of end-of-life care and grief work for both terminal individuals and their loved ones.
